  • Jackson Neck/ Squire Body

Does anybody know if a Jackson 25.5 scale 24 fret neck will work on a squire strat body, that had a 25.5 scale neck with only 21 frets?
I put most psychiatrists on the couch.

No it won t work as is. You need to take some of the wood out between the neck pocket and the neck pickup.

As it is, Jackson necks only work with Jackson bodies. First, the neck pocket on most guitars is 2 3/16" (Fender standard) C/J pockets are 2 1/4". Also, C/J never went the "overhang" way of adding a 22nd fret like Fender, so a Jackson 22 fret neck won't work on a Fender USA 22 fret body.

Now I have an Aria body that has a 2 1/4" neck pocket that fits a DK1, but the body to neck holes are in a different location on imports, so you'd have to drill. I'm not drilling a J/C neck.

I'd rather do a Jackson body with a Squier neck, to get the strat head.
Would that be workable? I'm guessing no chance or everyone would be doing it. Some of those cheapo Squier necks play great.

This could work if you went with a 22 fret Jackson/Charvel body. You would have some gaps at the neck pocket however.
