  • Jacksonstein Project question

I am thinking about putting a mutt together from parts on e-bay. Mainly for me to start practicing finishing and learning as well. I found a couple of the 1990 to 1995 bodies. How do I find the slim necks that came with these?

Also never having played a Dk2m how are these? I see lots of parts available for them

I have painted several cars and already have HVLP guns and a nice airbrush as well.

I have a 1994 Kelly XL that the neck is my favorite I've ever felt. One thing to watch for is some (like my Kelly) have the countersunk neck screws and no neckplate. Make sure if you look at one of those bodies, get the screws and washer/bushings that go with it.

      thanks Warlock.

Are you saying that the necks with the countersunk screws are really good? Will these also work on any of the bolt-ons from that era?

To clarify, I don't know if the neck itself is any different as far as attaching it to a body but the body (where the neckplate would be) has countersunk holes for the neck screws instead of a neckplate. I haven't had one apart so can't be 100% positive on spacing, etc. but I'm 99.99% sure the neck will bolt to whatever body you want it to with the correct route.

But yes... This is just my opinion.. But my XL neck is my favorite! Better than my SL1, Soloist Pro, or any of my guitars. Fits me like an extension of my hand..

Look here. http://www.jcfonline.com/threads/110466-yay-for-me!! It's a STD but neck joint is the same and in the second pic from the ebay ad, you can kinda see the countersunk screws.
