  • Rhoads pro restoration - uk advice

Hi, I've just snapped up a 92 rhoads professional thats a bit beat so im keen to get it resprayed and replace some of the hardware I.e. scratch plate etc. I've read good things about simcustom however they're q. pricey, looking at around £400 for paint strip and spray.

Does anyone have any recommendations other than these guys for the spray and also let me know if theres a company where I can source scratch plate etc.(spray needs to be in UK)

    Cheers
    Paul

You might want to try Rich at Stormshadow guitars http://www.stormshadowguitarworks.com/REPAIRS.htm Failing that, Rob at woodworm guitars used to do refinishing work, but I have no idea if he still does: http://web.mac.com/robertlloydwillia...s/Welcome.html Whoever you use, you'll probably need to specify that you want the guitar stripped, as it seems most refinishes are just done over the existing paint.

When it comes to hardware, drop Dave at www.fretsonthenet.com an email with your requirements. He's in the US but he ships internationally (I think!) and does great work!
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get
