  • Three Way Switch cuts out

I have 2 USA Jacksons that utilize the Gibson style 3 way switch. Whenever I put these guitars down for a while, they always lose the contact on the neck pickup the first time I switch to it, and the guitar cuts out. I have to wiggle the switch back and forth a few times to get the contact back again. Does anyone have a solution for this?

In humid climates oxidation of electrical contacts is common. Spray contact cleaner onto the switch's moving parts and work the switch back and forth several times.

      Been there done that.

Keep the switch in the middle position when in storage. This keeps both contacts protected from the air and oxidation.
