New Member with wiring question

Hello everyone - new member here. i really like this site, lot of knowledgable people here. I own 2 Jackson's. I have a near mint 94' Kelly XLR and a late 90's early 2000's Warrior. The warrior was in need of some TLC so i decided to strip it down and give it a paint job. I also wanted to do something different - so i filled in the neck pickup pocket so that it is now a bridge only pickup guitar. My question is: can i use the existing wiring setup and just convert it to a volume only knob - removing the pickup selector and other volume knob? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Well, you just take the black wire (if its a seymour duncan style pickup) and connect it to the outside pole on the pot (not the ground one either) and use the middle to go to your output jack. Simple as pie.
