  • Removing the V plate from a Rhoads

    I'm wanting to take the V plate off my Rhoads to see the stencil pattern better, just one quick question - does the V plate protect the wood from the strings? If I take the plate off, will the strings start to dig into the wood?

    yes they will damage the wood, you will have to install string ferrules
    something like this:

        I'm curious to see how this looks after you do this. Are you doing this to an RR5?

          Yeah, RR5. Eventually I'll do a custom pickguard painted like the stencil as well.
