  • Need help with tuning machines for RR1T

Will these ones fit in the Jackson headstock?

I bought some Sperzels and the headstock is too thick for them. Thankfully I didn't drill holes for the locating pegs. I'm hoping these will fit with the original rear screw holes as well.

I'm also open to the Grovers if they will fit and would welcome feedback on either or both. My RR1 is down until I get some new machines because if I put the stock ones back in I may never change them out.

The Planet Waves will fit. I've used them in place of Jackson tuners countless times.

In the places where it counts, it looks like they will fit fine.

Compare the specs... the Planet Waves...

I was going to suggest the Gotohs because they're basically exactly the same as the stock tuners. But, looks like you want locking tuners.

The Schaller mini locking tuners that Warmoth sells will also fit. The knobs will be a little closer to the headstock than the stock Gotohs, but they will work fine and should require no drilling or reaming.

Oh those Schaller's look nice. I like the big fat knurled locking wheel. Warmoth just got an order for 6!

So these showed up today from Warmoth, packaged awsome, sent USPS so ZERO duties paid on my end. The machines themselves kick ass. I was thrilled with the Sperzels when I put them on the death kitty, but these Schaller's are even better. The wide knurled knobs are easier to lock, they fit perfectly in place of the stock ones, build quality is awesome. Thanks for the suggestion Jazzy! Love U!

No problemo. I have used them on a few guitars and I'm really happy with them, the Gotohs are "good enough" for a locking trem guitar but the Schallers are just so easy to string up I might do them on the next Floyd'ed guitar, too.
