  • ProMod Floyd Rose Saddle Order? Anyone know?

Well I decided tonight that I would switch back to the stock saddles and try to sell or send back my graphtech saddle kit.

Heres the thing, I didnt write down the order of the saddles on my old setup...and now that im looking at the stock compared to the graphtech, im even more confused

The graphtech setup was easy enough. 1-2-3-3-2-1 starting with the e string(s).

Im looking at my old ones on the table and the numbers I have are 1-2-3-3-4-4 (not in order obviously)

Whats really picking my brain here is that the pair of 3's and the 4's are not the same height at all.

    Any ideas?

Lay them on a flat table right up against each other and arrange them in an arc with the tallest in the middle and shorties to the outside.

I'm assuming the 4s are the shortest? If so, I'd say they are for the high E and B strings. The 2s would be the low E and A, since those strings are thicker and would therefore be as close to the board as the skinnier strings with shorter saddles.

Then again, maybe the 4s are for the Es. I dunno.

Edit - I've never heard of 3's and 4's. And I don't recall seeing these numbers on my MIK Floyds saddles, but I'm not saying they don't exist. Follow Newc's advice as far as laying them out. Tall in the middle, short on the outside, middle in between. Easy peasy.

Just ignore the markings on the bottom.

You have a pair of short, a pair of medium and a pair of tall saddles.

The short go on the outside 2 strings, the medium under the A and B strings, and the talls under the D and G.

That's it... Basically what Newc said, which GrandTurk said, too... Ignore the damned numbers and use your eyes.
