Will I wreck the neck-binding if I want to change the frets?
I don't have a guitar that need it, yet, but the day will come. I've just had my latest Jackson CS in for a "tune-up" to remove the valleys from the frets, and that got me thinking... Anyone?

If the binding is over the frets, typically you will lose the nubs that cover the fret ends. Skilled luthiers (and more $$$) can preserve the binding nubs.

Regular binding should not be affected by a refret, but a ham fisted tech could mess it up, I guess.

I think I'd rather let a skilled man do it.
The guy that did the overhaulin on my Jackson did a fenomenal job. The action is insane. It's just perfect.

The fret tang is clipped so it actually doesn't go into the binding at all. Yeah, I do a lot of stuff but I'm not one to go ripping frets out of a Soloist.
