DiMarzio Super 3

What are your opinions on a DiMarzio Super 3? I'm thinking of putting one into my SD1.

Love it in my SDII reissue (Koa)
Dropped it in my RR1 as well

For both guitars, great midrange, creamy top, being a bit flabbier in the bass on the RR than the SDII
a P'up that grinds instead of screams

Love it in my SDII lacewood charvel(listed as custom on specs) but hated it in my model A that was mahogany.

The Super 3 is a pretty dark pickup, especially in mahogany, but it does retain punch in the low end. It's stock on the PC-1, I recently swapped mine out for a Steve's Special, which was a better match (in my opinion), for the PC-1
