  • Saddle sores

I'm in need of new saddles for my OFR on my San Dimas. I had replaced them with the string saver saddles years ago but they all bit the dust. They we're a pain to get tight without splitting. I want to go back to originals.

Looking on this site, it appears there are 3 styles and numbers. What's the difference? How do I know which one to get?

If you look at your floyd you see the saddles differ in height
This is ofcourse to follow the radius of your fretboard

E and E string are the lowest, D and G the highest

    So order 2x 0's, 2x 1's and 2x 2's

That's one good thing about the JT6...all six saddles are the same part!

        Useful info

That was great info! I never knew that. No wonder when I mix n' match it's all f-ed up. That's when I give up and it goes to a guitar shop. Thanks so much.

Just out of curiosity, how do they space out 7-string saddles?

I like to shim my bridge to about a 20" radius, so I end up taking most of the difference out, anyway.

Actually I'd prefer to just have 6 of the "E" saddles.

getting only D/G saddles would make your trem sit lower in the body though

Don't assume I want that. When you assume, ou make an ass out of you and... Well, just you.

Actually I want the tremolo up a little higher. It's non-recessed.

You assume that I assumed that you want your trem lower in the body
I was only stating what was possible with higher saddles

what was that about "assuming" again?
