  • Charvel Model 6 tremolo JT-6 question (help)

Can an original Floyd Rose tremolo be retrofitted to this guitar without any modifications (such as trem posts, etc.)? Would it be an easy swap?

Everything I've read says an OFR is an easy swap with a JT6. Get the 42mm trem block. Might be an issue with the trem post not allowing complete "bottoming out" travel.

From what I've heard you can get 95% of travel with the JT6 posts. If you need the extra 5%, fretsonthenet.com has conversion posts for $25-30 shipped. JT6 threads with OFR v-slots.

String spacing is also a tiny bit different, but not really a big deal.

Yes the JT-6 is regular spaced and the OFR's saddles are just a hair wider.
It works fine just puts your two E strings closer to the egde of the fretboard.
          Really? well screw Mark Twain.
