I just purchased a "project" Kelly KE3 off eBay. The black JT580LP on it really needs to be replaced. I did not find a complete black JT580LP setup on eBay.
I have a couple questions.
1. Will one of the "Licensed by Floyd Rose" lo-pro trems sold on eBay work just as a JT580LP would? I have checked and the measurements arent exactly the same, but they are close.
The distance between the JT's posts are 2.875 inches and the distance between the "licensed" trems posts are 2.913 for a difference of .0383.
Is that a significant enough amount to prevent me from using one of the "licensed" trems with the existing JT's posts?
2. I know the KE3's came with a 43mm locking nut. The "licensed" trem comes with a 42mm locking nut. Once again, is that a significant enough amount to where the "licensed" locking nut wouldn't work?
