  • Replacement pickups for USA Fusion

Does anyone know about passive single coils that fit into the route of a USA Fusion?
Any suggestions on what pickups to get?

The only thing I have here that will fit is a set of EMGs.

You can Dimarzios or Duncan that fit - you just have to find or order pickups without lips - i.e. no protrusion on the side.

FWIW, I had Cool Rails in the neck and middle of my Fusion and they sounded crappy.

Hot Rails could be a good way to go. Certain of the Duncan SSL range come without the lip too.

Are these custom orders and if so, how much do they cost?

Same price. You just have to have them order them like that. Alternatively, just buy them and send them back to Duncan and ask for the tab-less version.

I'm in Europe, so anything the European distributor doesnt have in stock is gonna take forever to get here.
As for which pickup to get: I think I've tried duckbucker, hot stack, vintage rails, hot rails (not sure about cool rails) and different types of fender noiseless, none of which I found very convincing. Maybe I should try DiMarzios for a change, Area 58 or something.

I know you and I have similar taste (Maiden), so what didn't you like about them? Not enough output? Did you replace them with something better?

I was thinking of going hot rail / cool rail in my HM Strat for Maiden tones.
