New Volume Pot Not Working

Need some help. i Just installed a new CTS volume pot in a basic single hum/1 volume guitar. I get power and sound from the pup but the volume fade is not working at all--it's just at "10" no matter what I do. Is it a bad pot? (or did I fry it--I was very careful during the process...but who knows).

Anybody have an idea as to what's up?

You may have a solder bridge. Just a thought.

You won't have fried it, but did you hook it up right? The centre connection of the pot goes to the hot of the jack socket and the pot goes in parallel with the pickup.

Yup, that's the way I had it. I double checked everything. I ended up swapping the pot with another one I had, and it's working fine now. Something was bad with the first pot.
