I listened to the whole thing a couple times when it first came out and was leaked on youtube. When I was in the record store, I almost picked it up, but Motorizer by Motorhead also had just come out... it was a no-brainer which one to buy.

Metallica - Through the Never - love the riff! Unfortunately no Cliff influence on this album. The beginning of the end of my passion for the band.

Load - Hero of the Day. * Bonus points for the killer tone on Bleeding Me.

Re-Load- They had lost me pretty much all the way here... Fuel is a great song but not much else happening for me on this album.

S&M - Is this the orchestra album? Never listened to it.

St. Anger - Don't like anything on it enough to pick a favorite. You can tell the band was a clusterfuck when they recorded it. At gunpoint forced to choose I would say Some Kind of Monster.

Death Magnetic - Listened to it twice after buying it. Unqualified to pick a favorite song.

Interesting. I swear that song sounds like 100% Dave Mustaine. He even reused the intro chord progression for Hangar 18.



Edit: Just gave it a listen for giggles, been a hot minute. Yup, that was DEFINITELY written by Dave.

If memory serves, the song was originally an intro for the song RTL, before Dave was ejected.
