Yes, Gibson is here and they have a ton of guitars displayed. They seem to have come back to reality so I may be coming back on as a Custom Shop dealer this year. Brian Wilson was at their booth when I was there. Ran into JCF'er RoodyRocker too, always enjoy talking with him!

So less production models and more custom shop pieces. Interesting marketing, I guess they figure the higher end stuff will sell better then production models. We will see....

Who did Jackson have signing this year?

Not sure if Jackson had anyone signing. Phil was not there. Charvel had Warren from Ratt and a couple other guys I never heard of.

Jackson had Chris Broderick, David Ellefson, Scott Ian and Metal Mike when I went on Saturday.

Yes, one PC-1 and one Supreme is all I saw. All my Jackson pix have been uploaded to Facebook so you can see them there. The Charvel ones I'll upload when I get back home. I also videod a demo of that blue Jet City Amp on clean and distortion channels that I'll put up on YouTube later.
Ran into Matt as usual. Always a pleasure Matt, if you become a Gibson dealer I'm sure at some point I'll need to order another Les Paul Custom from you. I really like the 68 Reissues. Although Gibson had a lot on display, unfortunately they hid away all the cool custom shop, historic, and reissue stuff I was rather disappointed in their setup this year.

The PC Supreme was not horribly ugly in person like it is in videos

The Supreme isn't something I'm all that into. But the finish on the one on display was nice. It had a bit of metallic sparkle in it that wasn't evident if you looked from too far away or depending on the lighting. Jackson's booth has always been dimly lit so its not always the easiest to see.

All the Custom shop stuff was bought by GC with in an hour of display. All of it. At GC's request, they shut it down, viewing of.

I didn't hear that but assuming it's true, other dealers got to see it. In addition, the display was not set up in the same room as the other Gibson/Epiphone stuff. The fact that they had it at another separate location tells me Gibson intended to have as a closed event no matter who bought all of it. Also, some of the stuff in there was supposedly the prototypes, not the actual production model. Guitars like the Paul Kossoff sig, a new Billy Gibbons, and Kirk Hammett's Explorer. So what did GC buy? Prototypes?
The Gibson thing remains the low point of the NAMM show for me!

Sounds like a low point for Gibson, not just NAMM.

I know they just did a sig V for Kirk, but what's the deal with the Explorer?

Sorry, I meant Flying V not Explorer. They're doing a sig model of his 79 V. At least that's the year I think it is.
