Thread: Charvel 750XL

    Default Charvel 750XL

Just saw a 750XL with a JT-390 go for $1480 on ebay... wonder what a Soloist ATN Pro would go for... like those ever come up.

I don't know man if I ever paid $1400 for a Guitar it'll have to an Ebony board.

There is/was recently a 750XL on ebay.co.uk for £1750. I've seen USA Select Jacksons go for around £1k. Sheesh.

Yeah , but USA Selects are a dime a dozen , were as the 750XL was a one year only . Still I am not sure I would pay $1500.00 for a 750XL . Or in your case 2700.00 USD . At least with the AT PRO it was made for 2-3 years and slightly easier to come by .

Yeah, someone is selling a 750xl on the bay for over $1500.00 right now, and there's no sign of stopping from the bidders!

It is the amber top though...

Folks, they're nice guitars, but not *that* nice. Please don't pay $1,500 for one. It won't magically turn you into Shawn Lane.

I do wish Jackson would release another 24.75" scale Soloist, though. That's a big part of why people pay through the nose for 750s and AT Pros.

On a side note, do those short scale Charvels have the narrower string spacing as well?

No, standard 1 11/16" Gibson nut width (well, current standard). Gibson had a 1 9/16" nut on mid 60s and 70s SGs, and possibly other models. Was one of the reasons I sold my 1979 SG.

I remember my local store had a 750XL in stock for years. It finally went for about £500 in about 1997. Awesome guitar, as is the Pro soloist sibling (I have a hard tail model and the sustain you get from "that" note in Parisienne Walkways is epic). I would lap up a re-issue of one of these.

People pay big for these. A while back I asked a shop if they would sell my ATN Soloist Pro. The very helpful man in the shop baulked because it did not have EMGs or Duncans. He then said it would compete with the new KE3s and RRs he had on the wall. He then said that the shop would get 20% of the £300 they would get for it. I declined.
