Melodic Metal instrumental stuff - Update
Basically this stuff is not suited to my band, so I use it for my own fun. Anyway, it's instrumental because I can't sing so I let my average playing do the talki.........um, I mean singing. I'll add some more if the response is positive

Great playing! Lots of variety. I really liked your lead playing, too.

Love the playing. Lots of great imagination in there too.
Stupid question time (please forgive my ignorance): the rhythm and melody parts seem really nicely bound together. I'm wondering which you compose first, the riff or the melody?
Also, am I just influenced by word-association, or is the beginning to Death Star a play on the rhythm for the Star Wars 'Empire' theme? My other signature says something funny

Hey Force, the more I listen to your tunes, the more you remind me of Vinnie Moore back in the 80s. Good tunes, awesome playing. I'm sold!

Holy holes in my hole proof undies Batman..........
Geez guys, thanks so much for your approval, it means alot.
I have no particular formula. Sometimes a riff, sometimes a melody, even an idea for a solo & then write around that. I don't spend any time or effort on them really, I just hit record & play, then this is what I end up with.
Death Star was originally a song I had about a comet heading for us but it was shite, still liked the title though. I recently recorded the instrumental, it reminded me of Star Wars, so decided to use the name. It's not meant to be based around the Imperial theme but does have that menacing approach, much like a comet really.
Cheers everyone for being so kind. If your interested I can post more, I have plenty, just don't expect them to break new ground.
I'm not a pioneer, I simply just enjoy what I do.

great instrumentals.
if you don't spend any time or effort on them and they turn out like this then i can't imagine if you do spend time and effort on writing songs.

Ive got something a bit different for you guys this time.
This is my band Ilium & a song we wrote for Greenpeace, aptly titled......'Greenpeace"
If you know your metal you'll know our vocalist, Mike DiMeo.

Listened to it (thanks to my Soundcloud app, as I'm subscribing to you, so I see your latest releases automaticaly!).
The "Ilium" stuff sounds good but less my style. But, I really prefered your "Dragon Lair" and "Sunrise" tune. Good music & awesome playing. Reminded me a lil' bit of the band Dragonforce at some moments.
BTW, thanks for commenting my clips!

great work, Adam. I liked the Ilium song too. Not familiar with Mike's singing, but I remember he took over from Jorn Lande in Masterplan. That says a lot for his talent
Hail yesterday

Damn straight, Mike's a really great guy, easy to work with, we just send him the tracks with a rough idea of the vocals & let him work his magic.
