Thread: JS3 on the way!

  1. #1

    Default JS3 on the way!

This is going to be my main road bass! Feature-wise it is exactly what I need in a bass, but I will probably add emgs. Pricewise this bass is perfect to endure the abuse that the road ditches!I am very excited as we are about to hit the road...

Probably going to get a second as a backup.

Now I must thin the herd.... I thinkn the JPB8 is next on the chopping block... possibly the 9! I wish I could keep em all!!!

Current Arsenal for MATT - :
    Custom Shop RR Bass
    JPB9
    JPB8
    KB1 Kelly Bass
    Concert EX
    Futura prototype >>> GONE!!!
    Fender TB1200
    Fender 610Pro
    Fulltone Bassdrive2
    Fender Sub-Lime Bass Fuzz

on TB the JS3's and V's are getting quite a lot of talk lately, no complaints in any way
just wish the fuckers would make the 2 in lefty so I could buy a couple and actually play them on stage, and finally get rid of a bunch of my righties.

Got this bass on Friday and set it up today! Quality is excellent, electronics sound awesome!!! I have zero complaints. I put my JPB8 up on ebay... if it sells, I will be getting a second and possibly third JS3... This is my road bass from now on!!!

I wonder what the tone would sound like if you dropped EMG-HZ,s in it like the CMG...shit if it sounds the same, for 3/4 less price, I'd say the CMG is now extinct!!!
Hey Shawn did you take the control cover off yet?
is it the same old je2500 preamp in there?

Not yet Mike, but I wiil let you know. I did notice the finish on the back has "orange peel" and the neck has hand/finger print smudges ALL over the backside but at $350 for a new Jackson I knew there were going to be some corners cut

my only concern would be for 350 bucks is the neck straight, are the frets level, is the nut cut and mounted correctly, is the pocket tight and is the bridge mounted correctly to line up perfectly with the pickups....lol who cares about a little paint defect on the backside.

The neck p-up is a little low IMO but it will get adjusted , otherwise the rest of the set-up is spot on and I'm perfectly happy with it. I'm sure my belt buckle and wallet chain will camoflage the orange peel in a week or two

Hey amimbari,...I am thinking about buying a JS3V,...any thoughts on the construction or how they compare to the older Concert V's? Any thoughts would help. I really don't wanna put money into a cheap made bass.

    hey Hose.... how you been?

don't ask me, just look at the other posts. They seem to like them. I'm sure it is lighter, and as far as everything else compared to the old units? Probably no difference in playability or tone.

Yea, your right on that. I would liked to be able to get my hands on a "older" Concert V but,....the newer ones may have to do....at least for now.
