Thread: My new JS3V

  1. #1

    Default My new JS3V

There was request for a new thread when someone got one, and well I did, so:

    1. Sounds hella sexy.
    2. Probably the lightest bass I've ever played. Weight is not an issue.
    3. The B string is the same volume as all the others.
    4. The knobs from left to right are: blend/volume, then treble/mid/bass.
    5. Looks sexy.

I'll try to answer questions, but I won't be able to have the bass in my hands again until Monday.

Totally agree with anomynous - it's one sexxxxay beast. Great sound, great price. I got the exact same one yesterday. I also have a CMG and there's no noticeable difference in the construction or the tone quality. I just wish they came out with the JS's before I dropped $700 on the CMG. Oh well.

no the pickups are not active...
you could use another preamp if the jackson one is not your thing.

I just assumed the pickups were active since that's what Ellefson said in the announcement video

I think Ellefson meant that it has an active EQ. There's a 9-volt battery in the back compartment, just like the CMG.
