Is the guitar in the glass case actually Randy's, or is it one of the 60?

I shot some video too but thanks to the crap connection at the Ramada it won't be live for a few hours.

It was wild seeing Randy's brother and sister there, they share alot of Randy's features. All these years I've been seeing Randy's pictures online and in magazines... then to see his relatives looking so similar to him. It was cool! I think everyone there felt bad though, his poor sister could barely get her words out she was so moved by the whole thing. I'm really glad I was there to see this tonite.

Oh whoa... that is actually very interesting. For a guitar with a story like that, even a clone, the pricing seems very reasonable and the date connected to it is almost sentimental in it's own right, and to have his siblings present it is so moving. Jackson really hit it home this year.

I photographed Randy's guitar at the CSUN exhibit a few years back and posted the pictures here and on the rr.tk site. This is an awesome relic/repro project and I can't wait to see it in person at the NAMM this weekend.

This is really anal but there is a small blemish beneath the edge of one of the control knobs...that is exactly how Randy's guitar is. That blemish appears prominently in the high-res photos I took at CSUN. So if this was indeed built from inspecting the original, then it could be argued that these are even closer reproductions than any previous editions including the fabled set of seven Shannon Shortwings...very cool project, wish I had thirteen large for one.

Too bad Randy wasn't born on the first of january.

Anyway, it's a nice tribute to a true legend. RIP Randy.
What do you mean, "I don't believe in God"? I talk to him every day.

Can somebody well-versed on the "no more RR LTDs" policy explain how they can do this? Can Fender just ignore it because the policy was made by AMIC, and can just be viewed as a sales pitch on their part? Is it that Delores has final say, and people confused that with meaning that there would never be any more made?

Not trying to rain on the parade. I'm just genuinely curious about it. The guitar looks awesome, and I agree that RR is hugely deserving of a perfect replica tribute.

Probably because Randy's family gave them permission to do this. Or maybe because they're reserving the design for things exactly like this.

Really? I knew about these about 4 months ago, if not more. It might not have been publicised, but it wasn't 'from out of nowhere' either...
