  • Jackson JPB8

Just picked up my old JPB8. Bought it new in 95 or 96ish, sold it a few years later and low and behold it showed back up in my local store... Snagged it back!
I have been researching these basses tonight and I am finding out that they are in fact a little bit rare. Like only 1200 of them made or something due to them being a "Law Suit" issue.
I was wondering if anyone knows much about these. There is a battery in it... is that active pick ups or an active eq type thing?
Saw on one (JPB9) ebay tonight going for $900.00
Did I do good getting it for $300.00?

Any other thoughts about these? Would love to hear what anyone has to say.

    Cheers!

speaking of JPB's, I found this on EBAY this week. Looks like Jackson AND Washburn were copying the Marleaux Consat body....

ya thanks, the JCF club on FB has me posting there a little more, but I'm still around for sure.

I never knew that washburn that everyone knows had ties with Jackson had their own version if the jpb. if the ebay seller wasn't charging so much for it, the thing would be cool just for the "check it out" factor.

still regret not snaffling the JPB9 I saw in a pawnbrokers for $500 way back when. I'm no bassplayer otherwise probably wouldn't have thought twice about buying it. It was gorgeous. By the time the decision was made to go back and get it, it was gone.

either a jpb roswell or an antigrav, all 3 just ugly enough to be super collectible..lol
with all the p-bass looking shit out there, I'm glad they had the balls to do something wild looking and is so sought after even 20+ years later.

the antigrav was hideous! They say it balanced beautifully though. I only ever saw one in person & never took it off the wall to try it
