  • Who birthed my Jackson?

    Hi, new here!

As a child, I've always dreamt of owning a USA Jackson, and I recently stumbled upon a USA Rhoads from the mid 90s. So, I am curious. Did Jackson have some random people pumping out these guitars in Ontario during this time period, or were these things quality built and cared for? Whatever the answer may be, it won't change the fact that this Rhoads is the best thing I've ever played in my almost 20 years of playing. I was just curious and trying to find more ways to love my already loved axe.

Ontario guitars were some of the finest, crafted by a team of talented luthiers.
You might be able to find some info in the cavities or from the hang tag if you have it.

Everyone has their own opinions, but when it comes to indiscriminate buying my cutoff is 1991. I will buy post-91, but I make sure to inspect them real good.
Ontario made some nice guitars. Some of my favorite guitars come from there. But Ontario is also when they started to make "production" USA models. IMO quality dropped while quantity increased. The business started cutting corners. Eventually causing a near destruction of the brand which allowed Fender to pick them up for peanuts.

*yes, that is an oversimplified description.
