I'm a huge fan of soloists but that price is crazy. Hate to see you have to give up an SL2H or Broderick to get crackle soloist. You're better off finding a used SL1 or SL2H and sending it to Lee at GMW. He's been doing a lot of refin work lately including crackle paint jobs. Here's a Jackson he recently did and sold.

IMO you won't get even enough to cover the $3699 by selling those. It's definitely a buyers market right now. Those crackles are awesome, but that price is way high. And even worse is if you ever ended up selling it you'd take a huge hit. If you had the money to blow, then do whatever makes you happy, but if you need to sell those to make it happen, you're basically giving up two guitars to get one with a really expensive paint job.

As far as selling the other two, I dont' have to sell them but I don't really need 3 Jacksons. I was guessing I could probably get in the $3200 range for both of those?

$3200 would be very reasonable for those two guitars, but, selling them for that in todays used market may require a ton of luck. There're are a lot of used USA models out there in the $1000 range, even less.

If the dealer is in your area I suppose you could trade your guitars for a new Crackle. Sure, you're gonna take a hit on what they allow you, but it's quick and easy.

As for getting a discount on the $3699? All you can do is ask. I'll bet if you walked in with cash in your hand you could do well.

I think the most economical choice would be to send your Soloist away and have the Crackle paint added. That option would cost hundreds instead of thousands, and you'd still have both guitars.

I was looking at those too. Cool axe, but $3600 is INSANE for those right now. I wouldn't go over $2500 and then I'll take a bath if/when I sell it. Find a small dealer willing to deal on the price.

As for the CB Soloist there's been one sitting for sale on another forum for 3 months... current for sale price is $1600... and dropping.
