I liked the one I tried. His info is a little out there. Scott Splawn is in Dallas North Carolina not Texas. You can read about Scott Splawn on a builder profile on Premeier Guitar. Any how his amps sound great some of them need to be played on the loud side to get the goods. I have not heard a bad splawn amp.

Insanely low price for a Splawn. I think that model new goes for around 2 grand. I haven't played a Quick Rod,
but I've got a Competition, which is beyond belief. Absolutely perfect for 80s rock, and if it's a newer model,
can get more modern sounds too. Def. check it out, but price seems too good to be true?

Went for $1062 - most are selling $1100-$1300 used. This one is newer - has the 4-pre and loop volume, so it can be tamed. These things are BRUTALLY loud when needed. They are essentially a modded JCM800/Hot Plexi combo - with an interesting and "signature" mid range. Pretty stiff, and unforgiving. I had the QR before I had a Competition - I LOVED that thing! A bit more "chewy", but still with a very Marshall-y character. Splawns are overlooked for the other flavors of the day, but they are the deal of the year compared to their contemporaries.

Good price for that amp. Resale is pretty low on them. I've seen a few for $900 but $1100 to $1300 as stated above seems average these days for used.
