    Need info on very unusual Soloist

    Hi guys,
    I am new here and just bought a real unusual Soloist. It is a daphne blue/surf green type of colour with 3 single coil pickups.

    The guitar has the sharkfin inlays and the Jackson logo is painted on the headstock in the same colour as the rest of the guitar. The number stamped on the last fret is J6500.

    It was supposed to be a demo/showroom guitar. As far as I could find out, it was made in 1999 and looks impeccable. Totally 10/10.

    The pickups are a JBjr in the bridge and two SD duckbuckers in the middle and neck.

    I haven't played it yet, but quickly bought it when it came available here in the Netherlands (where you don't see a lot of USA Soloists).

    Do you have any further info on what this guitar may be?

          Cool guitar. You don't see too many Soloists with a 3 tite layout like that. Old school guys like some of us dig them but, honestly, they don't get much play out there in the general market. The color matched script logo is very cool. Hard to tell from the pics, but looks like sea foam green maybe. Congrats.

                  Cool guitar. Did they make Duckbuckers back then, or would they have been swapped? Very unusual to see that logo on a guitar from that era..

                        Yeah, the logo was unexpected, but it's superb.
                        96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

                          Pretty sure they've been around since the 90's. I remember them for a long time

                            Meanwhile, I have received the guitar.

                            Wow!! Total 10/10 shape, no scratches, dings, not even the slightest corrosion on the Floyd or tuners. I wasn't expecting it to be so, well, NEW!!

                            The neck is possibly the fastest I have played, action is incredibly low. I know Soloists are known for this, but didn't expect it to be so pleasantly surprised.

                            Bought a great matching strap at the local guitar store:


                            The only things that I didnt like right away were the middle and neck pickups. These are SD Duckbuckers and extremely low output. Do you have any suggestion to beef it up?

                            The bridge has a JB jr and that works fine.

                              The "little 59" should be nice. There are also cool, vintage, and hot rails to consider (staying with SD brand, small hum style).
