  • Mesa F-50 Head = BROOTLZ.......

50 watts. Small and light. Incredible build quality. Only made for a few years I believe. 2 channel. Clean and a crunch channel that also has a footswitchable contour control. Separate Reverbs. Runs 6L6's and a bunch of 12AX7's.
Absolutely the best clean channel I have ever heard. I believe this amp was voted as the best amp for the year it came out for Guitar Player Mag.
The gain channel can cover blues, classic rock, rock, metal and with the contour switch engaged it turns this amp into a fire breathing RECTIFIER.
It has more gain than a Single Recto. Its more like a triple. With the gain on 5 you could play any death metal you want. Its the sheer definition of the term BROOTLZ. You could rearrange the furniture in your house with the master volume on 3 and the gain on 5.
All my other amps cower in comparison to this amp. Even the Metaltronix. If you are looking for the ability to perform SONIC MRI's.... onstage... this is the amp. If you feel compelled to force the other guitar player in your band to upgrade his rig... this is the amp. Its an absolute monster. I heard a lot about the F30/F50 and F100 series and only heard an F30 1 x 12 combo once and thought it was cool. I had no idea how super high gain the F50 is. You couldn't ask for a better clean channel in ANY amp, the reverb is amazing and the gain channel is total molten metal Rectifier.
I give it 4 thumbs up because I am including my toes.

Nice one, John! The F series is great. I had an F-30 combo for awhile with the EL84s and loved it.
I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

I had an F-100 combo. Great amp! Kind of a sleeper in Mesa land. I ran mine with an SD1 in front, and it was a tone monster - going that way gave it a more Marshall-y character. Lots of tones to be had.

Awesome man, I'm looking into Mesa myself. I'm trying to find someone that has the Mark V and JP-2C on the floor so I can play them
