Curious too! So subscribing

So lets get this straight, the BEST overall IMO Mesa Boogie head and no one in here own or plugged into one? Thats extremely hard to believe.
So lets open this up to ALL Mesa heads. I want to learn EVERYTHING about them. Who are they , where did they come from. Who is the dude who worked and repaired amps and then opened up Mesa Engineering. Where did the Boogie name come from and why did Carlos name the entire brand etc etc etc.

Are there any in stores near you?

Because they sure as hell aren't around here.

We have Russo's in Trenton NJ which has a nice very small selection but nothing I'm looking for. But you never know they might get in some badass models that I might be interested in. When I went there to check out new amps, Mesa was not my goal it was BlackStar Series One.
New York City is a 2 hour drive and I'm sure someone up there is gonna be loaded with what I'm looking for. I plan on going up there with my X Drummer and check out the Music Stores.

By the way I absolutely HATE the fact that most areas like mine use to be rich in killer music stores are now Dwindled down to a few things here and there and not much PRO level stuff. It has inspired me to seek out the quest to open up my own Music store that will carry everything people want and want to play BEFORE they purchase.

I'm not surprised in the least nobody here has hands-on with one of these. A new (and very expensive) amp is pretty low on the list of priorities when it basically amounts to nothing more than a hobby for a lot of us.

I don't really like Mesa amps and I'm not sure why. They just don't do anything for me tone wise.

Ok but just because it's a hobby for a lot of "US" doesn't mean you can't be into a nice head like the JP-2C. Very Expensive is only valid to the one holding his or her wallet. I on the other hand can afford this amp and any amp I want and this is a hobby for me as I'm not currently in a band.
Out of curiosity what is an affordable executable amp to talk about for the general Hobbyists around here?

I don't know why this turned nasty. I love the concept of the JP amp. Sounds very cool in demos but from a practical perspective it would be overkill for me. Even as a hobbyist I really only like a high gain Marshall sound and don't vary up my sound that much from an amp standpoint. Still, I did have a Boogie MK II in the past and will always have a soft place in my heart for them

This is why I pointed it out. It's hard for you to believe that there isn't someone else here who would own such a niche amp?

Most of us here probably aren't rushing to purchase a new amp, and especially one that expensive. It's fairly niche and for the Mark fans, the V is more than capable of doing a lot of the tone in this head.

And I'm not being nasty, but you're really asking the wrong crowd. You'll have better luck on a Mesa Boogie forum given their membership is going to likely be comprised of devoted Mark fans.

Thats fine, I just figured this being a Charvel Jackson Forum that a lot of guys would own Mesa Products as Mesa Does Metal very well. Most people who purchase Charvel and Jackson are Metal guys.

Well to get back on topic, I have been looking for a store that has a JP-2C also. I have a IIC++ but if the JP-2C is close in tone I wouldn't mind picking one up to save hours on the original. I just don't want to blind buy one and it not do what I want, I love the open yet saturated tone from the Mark IIC+, if the JP-2C can do that and not be compressed like the Mark V was, I will be happy.
