  • NGD Dinky custom shop NAMM show

hmm. I must say this thing kicks ass!! Unplayed...Very happy and a fair price when compared to DK1s which can be super nice, yet still they're not a custom shop instrument... Has the new pickup switching Jackson is starting to use, 5-way switch - one combinations is bridge hum + single coil (split) neck, etc.. The tonal difference in some of the combinations is amazing, you can really hear it - not like the Gibson coil tapping.. And THANKS
JACKSON for not putting JB and '59 pickups in this one, someone has come to their senses and heard my plea!
This pickup combo rips, yet cleans up real nice with a clean amp setting (I mean that it has a good and pleasing voicings when played clean, especially with that new switching) so it's not ONLY a shred machine.
It's also good for the minute or 2 per week when you want to play clean sparkly chords like intros to Pantera or Megadeth songs..
One look at the neck and you can imagine how it plays...quietly hoping NGD #2 a few days away. YES!

          Thanks.
ToneZone..in the neck position. I don't know much about DiMarzios but will be learning - I have a deal with them..

Sorry I got a little carried away in my first NGD post - just a bit too excited..

Cool. I've always liked the Tone Zone and X2N, just never tried either in the neck position. That X2N/TZ is the combo Mike Romeo from Symphony X uses, though.

Sweet...I love a maple board on a white guitar.
              96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

Thanks guys..I decided to start selling many of my guitars and replace them with a few 'better' ones.

This one really spoke to me, and having had a custom shop before, I am confident I have something special here.

I could have bought several less expensive guitars (maybe 2 nice ones) instead of this...I was considering 750 Charvels and the like.

With this one having a mahogany body and maple cap I knew I was in for a 'different than a normal Dinky' sound - closer to a PC1.

Alder alder everywhere...but is it that great? Everyone wants it. Anyway I do still have mostly alder guitars, so the tone woods on this one really set the stage for the purchase.

Guys I have "something special" on the way. Really I feel one of the most awesome Soloists I have ever seen..
After this one, it's "sell only" mode for a while...
