  • Caramel H/S USA Jackson Dinky Custom shop

It's been ages since I have purchased a guitar, but I am interested in a Jackson Dinky Custom shop. I own a USA made Dinky, but I am having an impossible time trying to find a fair price to offer for this Custom Shop Dinky with passive pickups. All advice is much appreciated:

Is that the one that's been on craigslist for ages, for 1500?
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

Yeah, it's been on Craigslist. I really like it, but I honestly can't even guess at a real value for it.

I'd think $1,500 would be more than a fair price for a Custom Shop.

Does anyone know if these were made in a batch for a store or what? I managed to find the same exact guitar sold in Australia.

that's a great looking guitar, and $1500 is a little high - but if you like it, it's worth it! i love the neck, love the finish, and i think it's worth $1500....

A CS is totally worth $1500 in my opinion. People pay that for USA Selects.

is that an ash body? or alder? either way, that guitar is a beauty, and the more i look at it, the more i am convinced it is worth every penny of $1500. it would probably cost $3500 to order that new.....

I'd say it's WORTH $1500, but the market sucks right now so a price of about $1200-$1300 would be fair for both the buyer and seller.

I paid $1300 for my Soloist SLATQ which is basically a Custom Shop, I guess that's why I find it difficult to find a fair price. I am not trying to beat the guy up, but it is a Dinky and has a single coil. And I don't know much about swamp ash or why there would be an identical guitar sold in Australia. I couldn't find any other info on these specs, which is why I came to the professionals!

SLATQH is a nice guitar, but it's not a custom shop. When it comes to the dinky, if you don't want a single coil or a bolt on, it's not the guitar for you - if you do want those, then $1500 for a recent, as new condition, custom shop Jackson is pretty damn good IMO..
