  • My 1st Jackson!!!

I'm in week 2 of Jackson ownership. I have a 2012 black SL2H. I've been meaning to post pics and I'll make a point of it when I get home from work.

So far I can't put it down. I've generally played mainly Gibson, had a Charvel model 5a years ago that I foolishly sold, I remember being really surprised at my bro's charvel and always wondered what the read deal would be like, I've had a few jems over the years and still got an rg550.
The neck and playability is superb. I don't think it could get any better
Mine has the stock SD pickups. For the past 9/10 years I've been using WCR pickups on my guitars - les pauls generally, and they are awesome.
So far I'm satisfied with the SD's in the slh2. Although it took my a while to play with the pickup height to find a sweet spot. The 59 in the neck position seems really weak.
I've got a spare bill and becky l500xl lying around...

I think that the thru neck design really tightens the sound - especially compared to the rg550 which is kinda thin.
Am using a soldano slo100, rehearsals last week really showed me what a great guitar this is.

...Im already thinking bout what to sell to fund an rr1 :-)

Nice. My first was an SL2HT.

Congrats, brother. US Jacksons are incredibly addictive...you've been warned.

And post pics when you get that RR1 ;-)

Congrats, something about a Jackson between your hands unlike any other brand especially if you're into metal. They look and play just right!
-Metal wouldn't be the same without Pointy guitars-

OK...am loving the Jackson but it needs new pickups. I can only assume the SDs are factory installed as a generic ballpark pickup cos they're not driving me wild.
I've ordered my usual WCR iron-man for the bridge and a dimarzio air Norton for the neck.
                        Happy days

The sl2h I had had the jb Jazz set. I liked it a lot in that guitar. Not so much in one of my lps. I have a slash set in another lp and love them. Don't know how they'd do in a soloist though.

Probably not well in a soloist considering what the stigma of a soloist commands.

Yeah, a number of us here really fucking hate that JB. I think it's an awful pickup. Some people love it. Opinions. lol
