    Valuation SL2H Shattered Glass

    Hey Guys,

    I have been stalking the forum for a couple years but never posted anything. Lots of interesting stuff on here and Jackson is my favorite brand of guitar. I have a USA SL1 and a USA SL2H in shattered glass. I picked up the SL2 on Craigslist about 2 years ago. The guy said he bought it at Ed Roman guitars. I checked the site and sure enough there is still an image of it.

    Paint job is exactly the same.

    I don't think this is a very popular paint scheme. I just wanted an SL2 to go with my SL1 for a good price and didn't care about color. I got it for $900 and it is in flawless condition. The guy never played it. I don't play it much either. I prefer my SL1 to all my other guitars.

    My question is how much is this guitar worth? I was thinking about selling this one and getting a USA Charvel.

    Depends on the buyer and how quickly you want to move it.
    $900 is a steal, it would move quickly.
    1100-1400 is reasonable but would take longer to move.
    If you found someone who just had to have shattered glass it could go higher.
    List it on Ebay for $1 with no reserve if you really want to know the valuation.

        Thanks fellas. I dig the graphic too. I think it looks great but I can also remember the 80's :-)

        I usually look on ebay's closed auctions for values but shattered glass does not show up often, and nothing shows up for this finish at all in closed auctions. Reason why I don't think that graphic is popular.

            I have a 2003 (or so) Shattered Glass SL2H. I got it at Guitar Center around 2007 for $1100.00 plus taxes.

                The Shattered Glass was not too popular, and it's very cartoonish looking.
                The original Shattered Glass like Zakk Wylde had was pretty nice, though, and I'm pretty sure it was also on some old Jacksons and Charvels.

                      Totally agree I much prefer that shattered glass to the one that was the standard in jacksons myself. Nothing wrong with the comic book style shattered glass just not my thing.

                        Yep, definitely not my thing. I don't really understand why they didn't stick with the other one as at least an option.

                            i owned the charvel with the shattered glass paint you're thinking about...i'll hazard a guess as to why it changed based on my old one...mine was painted by kline (sp) who did a lot of work for kramer...pretty sure he did zakk's lp too...i haven't seen a new kline paint job in years but pretty sure he never worked for c/j (mine was a refin btw)...d.m.
