  • USA Soloist arch top

Picked this up along with the 94 soloist today.
Plays great as is but needs cleaning and a proper set up.
No idea of year because no serial number so I'm guessing an employee project.
Receipt says Adrian Belew but I contacted him and he said he has never owned a soloist arch top.
It was supposedly traded in by him to Guitar Emporium with some other guitars.
My guess with the abalone logo i would say it was built in the early 90's.

      No it does not.
There were some USA's that didn't have the made is USA after the logo.
It does have a pearl logo, I think its an employee project. It could actually be an artist guitar because a few never got serial numbers.

Quite a lot of Archtops don't have the 'Made In USA' for some reason. Looks great to me!!

Looks like an oversize pickup in the bridge? If so, it'd likely be earlier than 90s..

You have a good point neilli I was going by the abalone logo I don't recall seeing them earlier than 91.
When I get it all apart maybe I will find some clues.

Very nice! A lot of the USA models didn't have Made In USA on them in '89.

It's a custom so it can be spec'd without it.

Can it be spec'd with a different allen bolt in the middle of the locknut too Mike?

Found a grid stamp in the trem cavity but there is no info written in but a W/O # 6422
It would date it 1987 or 88 more than likely because of the grid stamp.
Bridge pick up is a J -95 which works well with mahogany.
