There's always some variation, but it shouldn't be 'fat' as such. That said, my neon pink Custom Select was delivered with a HUGE neck (bigger than a PC1) and had to go back to be shaved down - fortunately it was an oiled neck so not a huge job..

It's pretty chunky. Fatter than my 50's les Paul neck..BTW I don't play because of the fat neck

check the serial # my 2001 SL2H has a much fatter neck than any other soloist I've ever played. (not Les Paul fat but definitely chunkier than any other Soloist I've ever played)

Here I am always looking for Jacksons or Charvels w/FAT necks....& those that do find 'em don't want/play 'em....the fuck?? ....

My 03 Bengal has a fat neck as well, which none of my other soloists do. Great sounding guitar though. Maybe more meat on the neck has something to do with that?

My 2011 has a chunky neck as compared to my 2005, not 50s LP fat though.
The 2011 neck stays flat year around, while the 05 need a truss adjustment every once and a while

My sl2-mahq is chunky too. My white sl2h is thin and fast.
One of my dk1's neck is chunky too.

Love to trade it for a thinner neck!

I had an SL2 that was trans green and had a fat neck. from what I could tell, the clear on this trans was layed on very thick and was the reason for the neck being so fat. JM2C
