So, after all the overwhelming responses I can only gather no one gives a damn about these cabs!

I still may try it out though.

I've used a Fender Roc-Pro head before that was pretty cool, but never one of their cabinets.

Pick it up and see how much it weighs? If it feels like it's lighter than it should be, you should probably avoid it.

Good point, I'll try to do a Clean and Jerk with it,...and if the manager complains, I'll point out this thread!

I get what ur saying though. If it's real light, probably not so great wood and/or drivers. There's no way to know the speaker type without unscrewing the back, which I'm sure they don't want me doing. So, I'll hook it up to some decent wattage head to make sure none of the speakers are blown...and see how it sounds.

Is it black tolex with a metal grille? Front loaded speakers? If so, I LOVE those cabs. I have had several over the years. They are the cabs that cab with the Roc-Pro heads.

Don't know about the cab but the G12T-100's have huge magnets and are very bass heavy. I have a set and I liked them for a while with my Blue Voodoo and then my Peavey Ultra+. Pretty cheap usually too. I got the set from Avatar for $120 shipped. When I got my Randall MTS amps I switched to V30/G12T-75's in x-pattern.

It’s black tolex but the grill isn’t metal, it’s grey plastic-fabric that held on with Velcro on the corners. It’s front-loaded with a sealed back. I ended up picking it up this past weekend after trying it thru a Line 6 Bogner Spider Valve II 100 watt head as the Marshall DSL was DOA. I was pretty impressed with the Line 6 as well as the cab. The cab could get a little bass heavy, but it could be dialed out pretty easily.

Was able to knock a few bucks out which took care of the tax. Not sure how desirable this cab is since in the few weeks that I last saw it, the shop (GC) picked up another used one! I didn’t try that one cos it had a rip in the tolex, plus the baffle didn’t look like ply like the one I got, which kinda confused me since I thought all the baffles were MDF.

I turned up the amp a bit to push the speakers a bit to make sure none were blown. I probably played a little longer than I should have as I hadn’t played thru an amp in some time. At first, I felt a little bad for subjecting the employees to my hack Megadeth riffs, but when paying I saw one of the employee’s superhot-way-out-of-his-league-only-with-him-cos-he’s-in-a-band girlfriend come in to pick him up after his shift…and I didn’t that way anymore!
