    Changed chrome hardware to black...

    SL2H Mahagony. Never been a fan of chrome hardware. Changed to all black. (I cannot photograph this guitar... it always looks purple in the pics. It's trans black, pretty dark...) She's a beauty! Anyway...:

    Much nicer. I've done the same with my Jacksons - either replaced with black or gold hardware. For some reason chrome just seems to look cheap?

            Yeah, black looks waaaaay better. I'm surprised they've stuck to chrome for so long on the trans finishes..

              No, chrome just needs the right finish/color top go with it. Some finishes work best with a particular color of hardware whereas others are more flexible.

              Case in point - this guitar looks best with chrome hardware. Gold might work but black would definitely not.

                            Very cool. I've switched chrome hardware to black on two of my soloists. Looks killer with the trans black.

                              The chrome wouldn't be a deal breaker for me on the trans black finish, but the black hardware looks great and would be my preference. I just ordered a custom select and specified black hardware. I HATE Gold, I like chrome, but black looks sleek mean.
