  • Marshall DSL 40c or EVH 5150 III combo

The time has finally arrived for a new amp. Since no stores locally carry either amp I would appreciate any feed back pro or con about these amps from people that have played either since I will have to buy online. I was hoping Marshall would release a DSL 40H head at NAMM but it did not happen. I was also hoping the 5150 mini head would be updated with the power scaling feature like the combo but no go.

I have the 5150III 50 watt head. It is awesome. Great tone, plenty of gain, useable cleans but not really what you buy this amp for. It will do everything from 80's Metal to that Djenty stuff those kids do these days! lol. Pros: It is flat out awesome! Cons: Power and standby are on the back of the head.
"Rule number one: In my van, it's Rush. All Rush, all the time. No exceptions. Rule number two: Nobody touch the red button. And I mean never touch the red button. Most importantly, rule number three: There's no jerking it in my van!"
