  • Pedal Board Finished

Thought I would share my pedal board. I think I done, well, at least for a little while. OK, truth - my wife says I'm done . It took some time acquiring the pedals I wanted that could create the tones of was seeking and I played around with the routing for some time as well.

    Here is an over view:
I connected everything with George L Cables and power everything with either their respective power supply or a Dunlop Power Brick mounted underneath the board.

First in the chain is the JB Fuzz Face - Excellent pedal but absolutely must be right up front. I played for days moving it around and it really is crazy fussy about where it sits in the chain and what else is also in the chain.

Second is the Clyde Deluxe - Awesome Wah, adjustable gain trim pot inside, 3 wah settings and volume. The latest version, not this one has an adjustable buffer to make it Fuzz Face Friendly, but I like the tone with the Wah up front anyway.

Third is the Catalinbread Belle Epoch. I was doing a alot of research on Eric Johnson's tone and he uses an EchoPlex into a driven Plexi often. I was not about to buy an original EchoPlex but this pedal was where I settled. It has the EP3 Boost built into it and adds additional gain and drive like the original. Also, as a result of my EJ obsession for a few weeks, I started experimenting putting delay up front (I was almost exclusively Digital Delay in the loop). I am now addicted. LOVE this PEDAL and would recommend it to everyone!

Fourth is the New Soul Food JHS Mod. This is the newest pedal for me and I have only used it a few times. It is a Klon clone type of pedal. I have never used or tried a Klon, but from the forums this pedal does a very good job of it. I find it to be a great pedal with incredible range. The Mod by JHS has three mods and can be bypassed. The Pedal is great by the Mod IMO is necessary and well worth the additional costs.

The fifth pedal is the an Ibanez TS808Reissue. Everyone has likely used one! I love mine set up with Overdrive and Level at 3:00 and the Tone rolled back. This pedal is a classic and I will never sell it!

Sixth is the EP Boost - Another EP3 type boost pedal. Love this pedal, it is like bacon! Make everything better!

ZenDrive! Loves single coils and provides a very nice, compressed gain.

BK Butler TubeDriver with Bias Mod. Crazy expensive pedal but worth it. This pedal has mojo! Again, I blame my Eric Johnson obsession!

Lastly I go into the Soundblox Orbital Modulator. This pedal has several Phaser / Flanger / Chorus / Resonators / Tremolo's. Super adjustable and easy to use. The only down side is that you can only store two patches. I have the left set up with an excellent Univibe and a deep Phaser on the Right. This pedal does an awesome Univibe which is why I purchased the pedal - everything else was gravy.

In the Loop I go into the H9 and then into the TC Trinity 2 Reverb. The Eventide H9 is incredible (again very expensive but well worth it). The interface with the excellent and the Bluetooth connection is the way of the future IMO. I love being able to load and buy only the Algorithms I want and the Eventide Store even lets you try the Algorithm on your rig for 5 Minutes before you buy it. It works great. The T2 is on the board to provide some deep and exotic Reverb tones. Although the H9 can load in all the Space Pedal Algorithms the H9 does not allow you to run more then a single Algorithms and I wanted to by able to run various Patches on the H9 with Reverb as well. In a perfect world, I would actually buy a second H9 and run both in Series. For the Loop I run I Send in and a Left and Right Return. This way I can run the Return into two amps and get stereo effects, Reverb/Rotary/Pitch Shifts/Delays etc.

Thanks for reviewing. I hope this helps anyone on the same path.

Very cool. I think I want one of those Orbital Modulators.

All that work when you could have made it easy on yourself, just buying THIS

and if that still doesn't work you can always go for THIS

I think those should come standard on all pedal boards.

Yeah, it is a very cool pedal. Got a chance play one next to an Eventide Mod Factor both set to their Univibe setting. To me they both sounded very similar and it was very hard to differentiate the two. Both sounded excellent!

On a side note - a buddy just picked up the latest version of the Fulltone Clyde Deluxe with the built in Fuzzy Friendly Buffer. I hear it works great and allows you to put the Wah before the Fuzz Face. I definitely want to check it out.

Nice. The Fulltone Clyde is another pedal I've also wanted to try out. I just sold a guitar and want to move a couple other things before I start spending money on pedals again.
