  • NGD: my grunge tribute guitar

I fucking hate grunge, so I ordered this in retaliation LOL

There were a few bumps along the road, and there's probably no point going over the specs because you can see everything (apart from the oiled neck and the fact that the body is alder I guess. Oh, and it has Shannon's sig on the back of the head too). This is my second custom select and I love the idea of spec'ing something 'simple but different'. This config is probably what I would have gone for on the seafoam I have too, but at that point, H/S and single volume weren't allowed.

Cool! I'm not a huge fan of pink, but that looks nice. I really like the MOP sharks on maple. What pickups?

      Grunge tribute. LOL

Love that pink, Ian. It's eye-popping. Looks great! And I'm a big fan of H-S layouts. Congrats.

What pickups did you go with?

Nice. Don't see too many Full Shreds in the bridge.

Great Idea. When I saw the title of this thread I cringed

FWIW, I'm using a Full Shred set in my 750XL.

Sweet. Did you choose not to have the Custom Shop logo on the headstock?
              96xxxxx, 97xxxxx and 98xxxxx serials oftentimes don't indicate '96, '97 and '98.

Pretty Cool. I'd like to see the logo in a color that would pop a little more against the pink.

Yup. Generally speaking, I prefer not to have the CS logo as it just makes the headstock look a little 'busy' to my eyes..

Yeah, maybe I should have titled the thread 'my revenge on grunge' or something LOL

Badass! Change it to a strat and it's pretty close to something I'd order. Well except the custom select won't let you do that, I don't think...
