Can anyone post some pics of the trans amber finish from Jackson?

    Thanks

Look at the middle part of cherry sunburst. It's the same, without the red burst edges.

Thanks for the pics. Do you know amber is more close to yellow or to orange?

              Yellow.

And your confusion may come from the fact that no two trans finishes are exactly the same. So seeing variations is typical. This is even more true of light finishes, like amber.

Plus it'll look different in different lighting, different picture taking, etc.

There's no primer, so trans finishes will 'soak' into the wood. Even if you found two that looked exactly alike today, ten years from now they will probably look different.

I agree with the above, that it is yellow. But I think Amber has a bit of an orange twinge to it.
Although, that could be because of the wood underneath it. The same as trans black looks grey or brown.

It's more yellow, but can look orange under certain light or on certain woods.

Ah, one of my pics. That's trans amber. But that's a mahogany body and neck. It will look different on mahogany than figured maple, as the mahogany wood itself is darker.

Note: also, the front of that guitar is a different color - vintage Solar, with an orange-burst edge, and on quilted maple.

You can also see that same difference in that last RR pic you posted above. See how the amber looks considerably different on the flamed maple top, vs. darker on the (I think) mahogany back?

Yeah, it's a little darker than that in person. That pic was taken on a bright sunny day outdoors.

Good luck, hope you get what you want.
