Does anyone know how many king v's were made in the 80s from the custom shop? I own one from 1987 but have had a hard time getting much info.

    No.
And it seems like we never will. Jackson doesn't like talking about the old days.

Besides artists (Mustaine, Robbin, etc.) it dosen't seem like very many. Unless they just never come up for sale.
        Gear:

        Jackson DK2M (07')

        Jackson PS-4 (99'?)

        Charvel Model 5 (86')

        Randall RG50TC

        Maxon OD-9

Yeah I'm holding on to mine with a death grip. You just don't see them like you do old Dinkys, Strats, Soloists, etc.

You need to post it to a host site like photobucket....and then link it

Find a post with a picture in it, and do a quote so that you can see how to link it.

                  1987 Jackson King V picture Serial #J2954

Finally figured out how to upload a picture, sorry for the delay. I bought this guitar in 1988 off of a guy who was leaving the Bay Area to work on the Alaskan pipeline. It was virtually brand new. The first thing I did was remove the pickup covers, like everyone else. I still have them and they are still in pristine condition. This guitar has served me very well over the last 27 years, still plays great. As I posted, having a difficult time getting any information about production of the King V.

Here is a pic of my 87 king v.I still have the pick up cover's.They were the first thing I removed. It has been very hard finding any production info on this guitar. I bought this guitar from a guy in the SF bay area who was heading to Alaska to work on the pipe line. It was only a couple of months old.He had it made to his spec's but other than that I have no detail's. If anybody has any info about production number's and the like I'd love to be enlightened.
