  • Big thanks (again) to Dave, Frets on the Net (Pickup ring content)

Big thaks to Dave at Frets on the net, he made me an awesome pickup ring for my model 3Dr body, the original one was bowed and had massive gaps. I asked for it super tight expecting to dremel it a bit and I did and it was tight but it fits great.

You can kind of see how much gap was round the pickup with the original -

this is how it looks with the new one -

Looks cool. I usually get those angled a bit on NR trems though.

Non-recessed. The strings are at an angle to the body on those. I can post the dimensions of the last angled bridge hum ring I had made if interested (which went on a Jackson strat). The straight rings are fine most of the time, but I did have one strat where I increased the neck angle a bit more for more pullup range, and couldn't get the J80C bridge pickup to sound quite right again at any height. It was sort of sagging back at an angle to the strings and lacked balls. I had the angled ring made, and problem solved!

ahhh I see, sounds interesting. I've not had much time with it but it sounds ok so far, my pull up is a little limited with the bigger block i put on it

We are SUPER lucky to have Dave within reach here!

He made me a super hum ring for my Model 375 and it simply blows away the stock version, even if I could manage to find one!

              Thanks a million Dave!!
