Febreeze has worked for me before to get rid of a bad cigarette smell. It may work on a guitar case. Spray it on them setting it in the sun should knock it out. You may have to do it a couple of times though. The original febreeze not the scented ones

is it a hardshell, chip case, or gig bag.


If its the chip case, those are probably best to toss in the trash.

I'm going to try dry carpet deodorizer let it sit the vacuum it out.

vaccuum on low power. High power could rip the fur out.

And keep it dry. Not just free from spills. Dry, as in, desert air. The kind of humidity you wouldn't keep a guitar.

Used some Arm and Hammer dry carpet deodorizer and it worked great.
Sprinkled some in the case closed it and gave it a good shaking to spread the powder into all the corners.
Let sit for 30 min and vacuumed it out.
Smells great now.

ODOBAN. It is the best stuff I have used. It's what I used to get the D COMP smell out of all my buddy stuff after he passed way. You can get it at Wal-Mart.
