  • 2 Years And Counting: CS Wait Times?

Got word from Matt that as of Feb. 19th, my custom order was in "mill process" and still 120 days out due, in part, to the "wild graphic."
If that is accurate, that puts delivery at roughly 2 months past the 2 year mark.

Anyone out there who's recently taken delivery of a CS Jackson, what was your total time from submitting work order to delivery?

-sigh- This is why, as bad as I want my own custom shop Jackson, I guess I'll be settling for a Carvin.

The CS Select program is a good solution for me.

        Vector,

What is the "wild graphic" you requested for this guitar?

          I don't think it's all that wild.

Glow in dark, fluorescent, or just green?

Yeah, I'm sure that "wild graphic" had SO much to do with the delay when it's still in the mill process and hasn't had paint even get near it yet. Sounds like a bullshit excuse to me.

I've heard they sometimes delay a build so it corresponds to when the graphic artist is available to paint.

From what I've heard lately it takes Darth Vader and the Emperor less time to build a Death Star than it does to get a custom shop guitar from Jackson now days.
This is what I think of Gibson since 1993. I HATE BEING LEFT HANDED! I rock out to Baby metal because Wilkinsi said I can't listen to Rick Astley anymore.

It may look like a wild graphic, but I don' think so. A wild graphic is something that requires true artistic ability. I could put that into the computer and cut vinyl masks for the graphics - probably take a couple of hours. Once you have masks, there is no need for an artist of Mike Learn or Dan Lawrence's talent.

Gonna have to throw the bullshit flag on this one.

I don't see the dealer having anything to do with it. They submit the order to Jackson and that's it. Unless TMZ has friends/family working at the Custom Shop, there's no difference between them and Matt's and Fuller's and whoever else.

Now, what it could be is that they try to fill one dealer's CS orders in the same time frame, so maybe if one dealer has 6 in at once they're trying to time them so those 6 get shipped at the same time.

And of course if any changes/revisions were made since submitting the order, or if they had to stop and ask for clarification on anything, that could move your order into the "hold" pile, and then put back into the stack when it moves from there. In fairness, anything held should go to the bottom unless it's already in process.
I want to depart this world the same way I arrived; screaming and covered in someone else's blood

Didn't you change specs along the way? That's worth a couple month penalty

Yeah but the Empire cuts corners when it comes to hardening their structures against proton torpedo attacks.
