  • Jackson J-90c

So I got a hold of a J-90c pickup.. Dropped one in on my model 6. The guitar sounds extra raw and more aggressive than ever. I was so impressed with the pickup that I want to buy one for my 90's Soloist Pro. Only problem is the J-90c is slightly over sized.

Are there any normal sized J-90c pickups out there?
Or are there any pickups that come match the J-90c tone?

    Thanks

If you want to see what that pickup can really do, may i suggest getting the je1200 electronics.

Ok, fine, i have a bridge pickup that uses 3 knobs, and requires 2 9volt batteries to operate.
    But its worth it.

I assume you mean because of the plastic cover? if so they are lightly glued in place and with a slight twist just pop right off exposing a standard sized humbucker.

If you are really lucky you might even get one with adjustable pole pieces too!

I love the tone and output of the J90 and had two in my late 70's LP Custom at one point. Always make sure to have as few spares lying around to install in various guitars.

Kinda like a Dimarzio Super 3 but louder and more raw like.

+1 to removing the cover, except that those are G-spaced and you might have a cosmetic issue with the pole pieces aligning with your Floyd.

Pull the cover or I have an uncovered J90C in my Charvel Fusion Deluxe, so they are out there.

Not really. Close but not exact.

I have several sitting in my parts bin not being used, but it'd be tough to part with them. They are that good.

J90c is probably the best Jackson pup ever.... And yeah, if you pop the cover, it's a normal G-spaced hum.
