    Loving this new/old amp

This thing is loud with great sustain on clean or distortion... never owned a Randall but it seems like it was built with some pride.

Where do I look to find out what year it is?

Yeah man the EQ on board is very responsive and it has some major guts... I hope it last me for 10 years...

The back has two foot switch controls, one for channel and a 4db Boost... I only have one pedal that I can find for now but that boost is crazy... The only thing wrong is the master controls are scratchy when moved... how do I clean them?

        Nimitz gotz some chopz!

Pretty crunchy, but maybe it's that cheap ass pedal gives it a nasty nasally tone?

        no GTWGITS?

        How about GTWnimitzITS?

Turning them about 20 times in quick succession should clear most of it up. Once pots get scratchy, theres really only temporary solutions. You could take the amp out of the cab and spray the pots with contact cleaner, but again, youll end up doing it again at some point.

Well for a $27 Metal Zone knock off I'm fairly happy... Still working on finding the sweet spot on the pedal... if it has one.

As for the GTWnimitzITS I was naked... and you really don't want that!

I can't find a manual for this amp.

I was wondering if it was the same for this amp as my old 5150... I have two 8 ohm speakers with separate jacks... plug them both in the output jacks and put it on 4 ohm?

I don't see why this amp would work any different than any other amp right?

                Ron?

Yeah, most SS amps work that way. Id be surprised if you have to flip a switch though, as most SS amps dont have an impedance selector.

Well, then for an 8 or 16ohm load, choose out.

But I am hooking up two 8 ohm speakers or two 8 ohm cabs if you will.

So two 8 ohm cabs hooked up, amp needs to be switched to 4 ohms... right?

Well I feel like a jackass... I hooked up my Ultra Metal pedal in the loop thinking it was going to be the best place for it... sure it sounds mean and I was loving it. There was a lot of noise though and would almost sound like it was clipping sometimes... well I put it in front of the amp and holy fuck everything came to life... the amp, the pedal, the guitar... AND THE NOISE IS GONE!!!

What a great amp... my 5150 is now forgotten.
