I wanted to solicit opinions regarding older US Charvels/Jacksons set up with either the Kahler or Floyd Rose.
What are the main sonic differences and what pluses and minuses do each system have? Would you consider cutting up a guitar to replace the Kahler with a Floyd Rose?

Floyds can flutter better, have a deeper range in pull ups/downs, and they stay in tune better.

The Kahler is great for subtle vibrato and anything but the most extreme tremolo use. It's a nice bridge.
I prefer the Floyd, but there's no way in hell I'd cut up a vintage Jackson with a Kahler to put one in it. I'd consider putting the Kahler flat-mount bridge in place of the Kahler, and removing the string lock before I'd do that. |

I'll chime in as soon as I get my Model 4 restored...

Which Kahler? I love my Killer 2700. My flat mount is being restored (20 year project).
