  • Duncan Mustaine Live Wire Installation?

I'm interested in buying a set of Mustaine signature Live Wires to put in one of my King Vs and wanted to see if anyone else here had bought and installed a set of these pickups before. Reason being is I want to gauge the difficulty of installation process.

I'm not the best guy for wiring up guitars when it comes to setups that are complicated. I can do basic pickup installs but that's about it LOL. Sad huh? What I wanna know is what the general setup is like, and I'd also be curious to know if the package comes with everything you need... including INSTRUCTIONS haha

    Thanks in advance!

I bought a Blackouts set for my Charvel Model 5 last year and it was quite easy to set up. Mind you I went with a 3 way switch and not the 5 way super switch, but really it's not really any more complicated than wiring in passives, you just have to re-do the jack and add the battery connection.

I just realized re-reading this that I forgot to mention that the blackout set came with full hardware and several circuit diagrams. The only piece of hardware not included is a switch, but all the pots, a battery jack, a stereo output jack, and extra wire are all included.

Yep, and guys like me and him will help out with advice there too.

If you can swap pickups, you can fit Blackouts/Livewires. It's just a wee bit more time consuming since you need to change the jack and stuff.
