  • Another change of pace

    Well I've been deciding between selling and refinishing this guitar for a little bit. I had some bites on sale/trade offers, but I decided to refinish it first, as I could always turn it around later. I just started on the color coat, but black seems to be the way to go...

    Should look better when the clear goes on and the orange peel comes off...

    hell yeah. while i can appreciate a trans finish, black les pauls are SO much cooler than all of that quilted, bursty stuff.

      Did that top even have a figure to begin with? Looks like a poorly-painted red - are those brush/spray strokes?

      The black looks better, even in the During phase

        The top has no figure or grain, otherwise I may have done a trans finish. And yes, those are brush strokes. Just goes to show what you find these days.
